BLACKBOX Pro Audio specialises in festival sound system hire in the UK and it is our busiest sector by far. To compliment our friendly and highly skilled technicians we have developed in house, a variety of tools and techniques which make us number one choice for production managers around the UK. You can read about our patch system below.
On a large festival stage we'll typically supply both Analogue and Digital Consoles to make sure all the visiting engineers are in their element and can cope with the tight changeovers required.
One of the tools we developed is our patch system which helps with the collection of advance data and then, once onsite, the streamlining of the mic patch on the day, ensuring everyone has the latest and most up to date information all the time and any last minute changes are highlighted immediately to those who need to know.
The system is networked so that artist engineers can check and if necessary, amend their patch from the comfort of the dressing room area enjoying some freshly ground coffee courtesy of BLACKBOX.
Increasingly, offsite noise problems are becoming a big issue for festivals and BLACKBOX is all too aware that well designed systems can play a big part in reducing the problem.
BLACKBOX has a proven record of designing systems to reduce offsite noise issues and as technology in this area improves, we have embraced it and put it to good use. The advent of d&b's Array Processing technology has enabled the system designer greater control and it looks like more techniques are on the way which will link noise monitoring software with system control software. We await with interest.
In the mean time, read our Case Study 4 page which details how we effectively dealt with noise issues at Skye Live Festival in Portree on the beautiful Isle of Skye.
